Dave Richards: podcast appearances and interviews

Sir David Gerald Richards, born on 3 October 1943, is a prominent figure in football administration. He has served as chairman of the FA Premier League and was a member of the Football Association's Board, as well as chairing the FA's international committee. Richards also held the position of president of the European Professional Football Leagues organization and was chairman of UEFA's Professional Football Committee. Additionally, he is a former chairman of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, having become a director in October 1989 and serving as chairman five months later following the departure of Bert McGee. His career in football administration extended to roles such as chairman of the Football Foundation, a position he assumed in March 2003 and held until October 2008. Richards was also involved in the bid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup as Deputy Chairman of England 2018 FIFA World Cup, a role he resigned from in November 2009. Outside of football, Richards was a director of companies involved in engineering, telecommunications, and water and waste treatment; several of these entities entered administrative receivership or were dissolved. He was knighted in the 2006 Birthday Honours for his services to sport. Richards' extensive involvement in various football organizations and his contributions to the sport have marked him as a significant figure in both domestic and international football governance.
