Dave Dravecky: podcast appearances and interviews

David Francis Dravecky is an American former professional baseball player, motivational speaker, and author born on February 14, 1956. As a left-handed pitcher, he played in Major League Baseball for the San Diego Padres from 1982 to 1987 and for the San Francisco Giants from 1987 to 1989. During his career, he was named an All-Star in 1983 and participated in the 1984 World Series with the Padres. In September 1988, Dravecky was diagnosed with a desmoid tumor in his left arm and underwent surgery the following month. Despite this diagnosis, he returned to pitch for the Giants in August 1989 and won his first major league start of that season. However, in his second start, he broke his arm while throwing a pitch. He retired from professional baseball after the 1989 season. Following a recurrence of cancer, Dravecky had his left arm amputated in 1991. After his athletic career, he became a motivational speaker and authored three books, sharing his experiences and insights.
