David S. Collins, born October 20, 1952, is a performance psychologist affiliated with the University of Edinburgh. Although his background includes a career as a Major League Baseball outfielder from 1975 to 1990, his current focus is on psychology, where he applies his experience to enhance athletic performance. Collins has a notable athletic history, having developed in the Rapid City Post 22 American Legion baseball program in South Dakota along with Kelvin Torve and Mark Ellis, all of whom are alumni of Stevens High School in Rapid City.
