Daniel Stenberg: podcast appearances and interviews

Magnus Daniel Stenberg is a Swedish software developer known for his work on the cURL utility. Born and raised in Huddinge, a suburb south of Stockholm, he created the utility which became known as cURL after various name and license changes. The software is available under the cURL License, based on the MIT License. Stenberg received the 2017 Polhem Prize for his high-level technological innovation and ingenuity related to cURL. From 2013 to 2018, he was employed by Mozilla. In February 2019, Stenberg joined wolfSSL to provide commercial support for cURL and to focus on its ongoing development. He is actively involved in the Internet Engineering Task Force, participating in working groups for HTTP/2 and QUIC network protocols, and has contributed to several technical Requests for Comments. His contributions to open-source software and internet infrastructure earned him the Gold Medal from the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in October 2025. This award recognized his role in enabling reliable and secure data transfer across a wide range of devices and platforms through his work with cURL. In April 2023, he became a member of the Polhem Prize's committee, further acknowledging his influence in technological innovation.
