Dan Roberts is an American public address announcer known for his work with the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. He has served as the Jazz's PA announcer since 1979, the entire duration of the team’s stay in Utah, making him the longest tenured PA announcer in the NBA. Throughout each game, Roberts is recognized for engaging the crowd, often asking, 'How 'bout this Jazz?' and announcing key players such as Karl Malone with phrases like 'The Mailman delivers!' His enthusiasm and distinctive voice have become integral to the game-day experience for Jazz fans. Roberts formerly was the public address announcer for the Utah Utes men's basketball team, including calling the 1979 national championship game featuring Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. He has also worked in radio and provided voice-over work for numerous television and radio commercials. His son, Jeremy Roberts, has followed in his footsteps, working as a PA announcer for various professional and college teams since 1998, and occasionally filling in for Dan during games. Over his extensive career, Dan Roberts has missed fewer than ten games. It was announced that he would retire following the 2024-2025 NBA season.
