Clara Barton: podcast appearances and interviews

Clarissa Harlowe Barton was an American nurse known for her humanitarian work and civil rights advocacy. She served as a hospital nurse during the American Civil War and was the founder of the American Red Cross. Since nursing education was not highly formalized at the time and she did not attend nursing school, Barton provided self-taught nursing care. Her career also included roles as a teacher and a patent clerk. Barton's contributions gained recognition for advancing humanitarian efforts during a period when women had limited rights, including the right to vote. In 1973, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
