Chuck Jenkins: podcast appearances and interviews

Charles Austin Jenkins, born on May 27, 1956, is the sheriff of Frederick County, a position he has held since 2006. As a member of the Republican Party, he is recognized as the longest serving sheriff in the history of Frederick County. Jenkins is associated with the far-right political spectrum and has been known for his anti-immigrant views. During his tenure, he has defended Frederick County's 287(g) program, which involves the deportation of arrested individuals. He has credited this program with contributing to a decrease in crime within the county. In April 2023, Jenkins was indicted on five counts of conspiracy and making false statements related to the acquisition of machine guns. Following the indictment, he took a temporary leave of absence from his duties as sheriff. In November 2024, federal prosecutors dropped all charges against Jenkins after his co-defendant, Robert Krop, was acquitted of all charges.
