Christina Ricci, born February 12, 1980, is an American actress known for portraying unusual characters with a dark edge. She has worked primarily in independent films, yet she has also appeared in a number of box-office hits. Her acting career began at the age of ten with her film debut in Mermaids in 1990. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and its 1993 sequel.
