About Chris Webber
Mayce Edward Christopher Webber III, born on March 1, 1973, is an American former professional basketball player known by the nickname C-Webb. He played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association, mostly with the Sacramento Kings, and also for the Golden State Warriors, Washington Bullets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons. Drafted as the first overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft, Webber earned recognition as a five-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA Team member, and the NBA Rookie of the Year. His early career was distinguished by being a National High School Basketball Player of the Year and leading his high school to three Michigan State High School Basketball Championships. As a collegiate athlete at the University of Michigan, he was a first-team All-American and a member of the celebrated Fab Five, which reached the NCAA Championship games in 1992 and 1993. His college career was marred by a federal indictment and NCAA sanctions related to a scandal involving payments from boosters. Beyond his playing career, Webber has worked as an on-air commentator for NBA games and has shared his expertise through teaching positions at Wake Forest University and Morehouse College. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021. In addition to his athletic achievements, Webber is also known for his roles as an author and business performance adviser, currently affiliated with Barratt Developments PLC.
