Prior to his work in Miami, Van Vliet was employed at WOIO in Cleveland, where he worked as a television reporter, and he was also a radio personality on WDOK. In Canada, he gained recognition as the co-host of the Sun TV show Inside Jam and as a co-host of Razer's now MTV2 969 program.
