Chris Lynch, born on July 2, 1962, is an American author known for his books aimed at young people. His works include titles such as Inexcusable, which was a finalist for the U.S. National Book Award for Young People's Literature, and Iceman, The Right Fight, Shadow Boxer, Gold Dust, and Slot Machine, all recognized as American Library Association Best Books for Young Adults. His book Freewill was also a runner-up for the Michael L. Printz Award. Lynch has written for both high school audiences and younger readers, contributing stories to collections like Guys Write for Guys Read and No Such Thing as the Real World. He was born in Boston and is an alumnus of Emerson College. As of 2011, he teaches Creative Writing at Lesley University. In addition to his writing for young audiences, Lynch is also known for his work related to search engine optimization, including the book The Truth about SEO: How to Survive in a World of Robots and Spiders.
