Christopher Paul Gardner, Sr. born on February 9, 1954, is an American businessman and motivational speaker. He became a stockbroker in the mid-1980s and founded his own brokerage firm, Gardner Rich & Co, in 1987. Gardner eventually sold his minority stake in the firm in 2006. He is also recognized as an author, having published a memoir that year. His life story and achievements inspired the motion picture The Pursuit of Happyness. In addition to his business pursuits, Gardner is known for his philanthropic work and his affiliation with the Independent Contractors and Business Association (ICBA BC). His experiences and insights have made him a prominent figure in motivational speaking and entrepreneurship.
