About Chase Elliott

William Clyde Elliott II, born on November 28, 1995, is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. He drives the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports. Elliott is the son of Bill Elliott, a former Winston Cup Series champion and NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, making him part of one of NASCAR's notable father-son racing duos. Before his NASCAR career, Elliott achieved significant success in late model racing, winning several prestigious events including the Snowball Derby in 2011 and 2015, the Winchester 400 in 2010, the World Crown 300 in 2012, and the All American 400 in 2013. He began his NASCAR career by winning the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year and the championship, becoming the first rookie and youngest driver to secure a national series title in NASCAR history. Elliott started racing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2016, taking over the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, previously driven by Jeff Gordon, and earned the Rookie of the Year award that year. In 2018, he began driving the No. 9 Chevrolet, honoring his father, and secured his first Cup Series win at Watkins Glen. He won the NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2020, marking Hendrick Motorsports' 13th title and making him the third father-son duo in NASCAR history to win Cup Series championships. Elliott has also won exhibition races such as the 2020 NASCAR All-Star Race and the 2025 Cook Out Clash, accumulating a total of 23 Cup Series victories, including seven on road courses. He is a multiple-time recipient of NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Award and was named among NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023.
