Charlie Robinson was an American actor known for his role on the NBC sitcom Night Court as Macintosh 'Mac' Robinson, the clerk of the court and a Vietnam War veteran. He appeared on the show from its second through ninth seasons. Although he was usually billed as Charlie Robinson, the series credited him as Charles Robinson during his tenure on Night Court. Early in his career, he appeared in films such as Sugar Hill and The Black Gestapo, where he was credited as Charles P. Robinson. His career included work in stage, film, and television, and he was sometimes confused with older actor Charles Knox Robinson, who was active under the stage name Charles Robinson from 1958 to 1971. Robinson was born on November 9, 1945, and passed away on July 11, 2021.
