Charlie Mitchell: podcast appearances and interviews

Charlie Mitchell, born in 1992 in Detroit, Michigan, is an American chef and restaurateur known for his specialization in soul food with a fine dining approach. He began his culinary career in his early twenties after leaving college, completing his first formal stage at Benu in San Francisco. Mitchell has worked in several fine dining establishments across San Francisco, New York City, and Washington, D.C. In 2021, he helped to reopen Clover Hill in Brooklyn Heights, where he serves as executive chef and co-owner. His leadership at Clover Hill earned him a Michelin star, making him the first Black chef in New York City to receive this accolade. In 2022, he was recognized with the Michelin Guide New York Young Chef Award, and in 2024, he received the James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York State. During 2025, Mitchell left Clover Hill to become the executive chef of Saga restaurant in Manhattan's Financial District, which holds two Michelin stars. Mitchell has made numerous media appearances, including on Good Morning America, Today, CBS Saturday Morning, and Bobby's Triple Threat. Additionally, he has participated as a guest on various podcasts and headlined guest chef dinners across the United States and the Caribbean.
