Chadwick Boseman: podcast appearances and interviews

Chadwick Aaron Boseman was an American actor and playwright whose career spanned approximately two decades. Born in South Carolina, he studied directing at Howard University and began his professional journey in theatre, receiving a Drama League Directing Fellowship and an AUDELCO award. His early work included a Jeff Award nomination for his 2005 play Deep Azure. Transitioning to television and film, Boseman starred as a series regular on the NBC drama Persons Unknown in 2010. He gained widespread recognition for portraying historical figures, including Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get on Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall. Boseman is best known for his role as T'Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he appeared in four films from 2016 to 2019, including the 2018 film Black Panther. As the first Black lead in an MCU film, he gained significant acclaim and was named in the 2018 Time 100 list. His portrayal of T'Challa in the Disney+ series What If...? earned him a posthumous Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 but kept his condition private, continuing to pursue his acting career until his death from the illness in 2020. His final film role was in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, for which he received multiple awards including the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Actor, as well as a posthumous Oscar nomination.
