Cecilia Veronica Peniston, known as CeCe Peniston, was born on September 6, 1969. She is an American singer and former beauty queen who achieved prominence in the early 1990s with five number one hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Her most famous track, 'Finally,' reached number five on the US Hot 100 and number two in the United Kingdom. Throughout her career, Peniston has performed at notable events including private engagements for Aretha Franklin's birthday party in Detroit and for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in Rome as a member of the gospel band Sisters of Glory.
