Bryce Dallas Howard, born on March 2, 1981, is an American actress and director. She is the eldest child of filmmaker Ron Howard. Howard studied acting at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Her early stage role as Rosalind in a 2003 production of As You Like It brought her to professional attention. She was subsequently cast by director M. Night Shyamalan in the films The Village (2004), where she played a blind woman, and Lady in the Water (2006), as a naiad. Her performance in Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of As You Like It in 2006 earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She appeared as Gwen Stacy in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3, directed by Sam Raimi. Her filmography includes roles in Terminator Salvation (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Help (2011), 50/50 (2011), Pete's Dragon (2016), and Rocketman (2019). Howard is well known for her role as Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World trilogy, from 2015 to 2022.
