Sir Harold Brian Seymour Warren was born in Toddington, Bedfordshire in 1914. Over the course of his career, he served as a medical officer to the Grenadier Guards in 1943, and later held positions as a physician at the Wellington Barracks and as a resident medical officer at the King Edward VII's Hospital in London. During his tenure at the hospital, he worked alongside Matron Alice Saxby and developed a professional and personal relationship with British Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath, serving as his personal physician. Warren was married to Dame Josephine Barnes. He was knighted in the February 1974 Dissolution Honours for his contributions to medicine and public service. Born into a family with deep roots in the East Anglian countryside, Warren inherited a lifelong love of rural life from his mother.
