Brian Francisco Flores, born on February 24, 1981, is an American professional football coach currently serving as the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He began his NFL coaching career with the New England Patriots, where he was an assistant coach from 2008 to 2018. During his tenure with the Patriots, Flores was the defensive playcaller in his final season, which culminated in a victory in Super Bowl LIII. Following this success, he assumed the role of head coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2019 to 2021. Under his leadership, the Dolphins achieved consecutive winning seasons in 2020 and 2021, the franchise's first since 2003, despite not reaching the playoffs. Flores's tenure with Miami ended after the 2021 season due to conflicts with team management. He later filed a class-action lawsuit against the NFL, alleging racial discrimination in the league's treatment of minority coaches and executives. After the lawsuit, Flores returned to an assistant coaching role and was appointed as the defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings in 2023.
