Brian Cook: podcast appearances and interviews

Brian Cook, born on July 16, 1977, is an American bassist and musician known for his work with several bands including Botch, Russian Circles, and Sumac. He has also been a full-time member of These Arms Are Snakes and Roy, and has contributed as a session musician for Mouth of the Architect. Beyond his musical career, Cook is a freelance journalist and author of the book The Second Chair Is Meant for You. In August 2021, he released his first solo album titled We Left a Note with an Apology under the moniker Torment & Glory through Sargent House. The concept for this album originated in the mid-2000s after listening to Bruce Springsteen's 1982 album Nebraska on vinyl, which was heavily covered in dust, resulting in distorted sound and occasional acoustic guitar. Cook has also spoken openly about his experiences as a gay individual in interviews and personal writings.
