Bradley Jay Little, born on February 15, 1954, is the 33rd governor of Idaho, serving since 2019. He is a member of the Republican Party and previously served as Idaho's 42nd lieutenant governor from 2009 to 2019. Before entering statewide office, Little was an Idaho state senator from 2001 to 2009. He graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1976 and managed his family's ranching operation. Little also served on various business and civic boards, including a 20-year tenure with the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry. His political career began when he was appointed as an Idaho state senator by Governor Dirk Kempthorne in 2001. In 2009, Lieutenant Governor Little was appointed to his subsequent role when Governor Butch Otter appointed him following the resignation of Jim Risch, who became a United States senator. Little was elected governor in 2018 after winning a crowded Republican primary with 37.3% of the vote. He secured his party's nomination for a second term with 52.8% of the vote and was reelected in 2022. In that election, he defeated Democratic nominee Stephen Heidt and independent candidate Ammon Bundy.
