Brad Brooks, born on March 3, 1961, is an American singer and songwriter. He hails from Oakland, California, and is recognized as the last lead singer of the band the MC5. In collaboration with Wayne Kramer, Brooks co-wrote the final MC5 album, Heavy Lifting, which was produced by Bob Ezrin. The album features contributions from notable musicians including Tom Morello, Abe Laboriel Jr., Stevie Salas, Vicki Randle, Winston Watson, Dennis Thompson, Don Was, Vernon Reid, Slash, William DuVall, and Joe Berry, with additional songwriting by Tim McIlrath and Jill Sobule. Beyond his work with the band, Brooks has developed a solo career and has performed vocals for the Karaoke Revolution and Guitar Hero video game series.
