Robert Alan Johnson is an American professional who serves as Vice President and Chief Distribution Officer at Midland National Life Division. He has a background rooted in college football, where he was a former coach and player. Johnson's coaching career includes leading Furman University to the NCAA Division I-AA national championship game and managing the Paladins from 1994 to 2001. During his tenure, he achieved a cumulative record of 60 wins and 36 losses. Prior to his coaching career, he served as the defensive coordinator for the Clemson Tigers. As head coach at Vanderbilt University from 2002 to 2010, Johnson led the team to its first winning season since 1982 in 2008, with a record of 7 wins and 6 losses. That season culminated in a 16–14 victory over Boston College in the Music City Bowl, marking Vanderbilt's first bowl victory since 1955 and only their second in school history at that time.
