Bjarke Ingels: podcast appearances and interviews

Bjarke Ingels is a Danish architect and the founder and creative partner of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). He gained recognition in Denmark for designing two housing complexes in Ørestad, the VM Houses and Mountain Dwellings. In 2006, he established BIG, which by 2015 employed around 400 staff and undertook notable projects such as the 8 House housing complex, VIA 57 West in Manhattan, the Google North Bayshore headquarters co-designed with Thomas Heatherwick, the Superkilen park, and the Amager Resource Center waste-to-energy plant that features a ski slope and climbing wall on its exterior. Since 2009, Ingels has secured numerous architectural competition wins. He moved to New York City in 2012, where his firm received recognition for projects including VIA 57 West and a flood resistance design contest following Hurricane Sandy. His work has earned him several accolades, including being named Innovator of the Year for architecture by The Wall Street Journal in 2011 and being listed among Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2016.
