Bill King: podcast appearances and interviews

Wilbur 'Bill' King served as the President and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. Throughout his career, he was known for his contributions to sports broadcasting, notably as the radio voice for the Oakland Athletics for more than twenty seasons. He also served as the longtime radio play-by-play announcer for the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders and the San Francisco and Golden State Warriors. Earlier in his career, King was part of the original broadcasting team for the San Francisco Giants when the team relocated from New York in 1958. Additionally, he called football and basketball games for the University of California. Recognized for his distinctive handlebar moustache and Van Dyke beard, King was known for his catchphrase 'Holy Toledo!'. In 2016, the National Baseball Hall of Fame named him the recipient of the 2017 Ford C. Frick Award, which is considered the highest honor for American baseball broadcasters.
