Bill Bailey: podcast appearances and interviews

Bill Bailey, born on 13 January 1965, is an English musician, comedian, actor, and television presenter. He is recognized for his role as Manny in the sitcom Black Books and for his regular appearances on panel shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You, and QI. Bailey incorporates music into his performances, playing a variety of musical instruments, and is known for his stand-up comedy work. In 2003, The Observer listed him as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy. He was also voted the seventh greatest stand-up comic in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups in 2007 and 2010. Bailey appeared in the film Hot Fuzz and won the 18th series of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 at age 55, making him the oldest winner in the show's history as of 2024. Outside of entertainment, he is active in cancer fundraising, having walked 100 miles in honor of his mother, who died in 2005. He has also raised awareness for prostate cancer via various media outlets. Bailey was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Bath in 2018 and became a patron of the Musical Comedy Awards in 2024. He has authored several works, including Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to British Birds, Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to Happiness, and My Animals, and Other Animals, a memoir.
