Benjamin McKenzie Schenkkan, born on September 12, 1978, in Melbourne, is an American actor, author, and commentator. He is recognized for his roles in television series such as Ryan Atwood in The O.C., Ben Sherman in Southland, and James Jim Gordon in Gotham. His film debut was in the Academy Award-nominated Junebug, and he has appeared in various films including 88 Minutes, Goodbye World, Some Kind of Beautiful, and Line of Duty. In 2020, McKenzie made his Broadway debut in the play Grand Horizons.
