Ben Mankiewicz: podcast appearances and interviews

Ben Mankiewicz is an American television journalist and a host for Turner Classic Movies. He began his career as a news reporter and anchor, working for WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina, and WAMI in Miami. Mankiewicz is a graduate of Tufts University and earned a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. In 2003, he was hired by Turner Classic Movies as an afternoon weekend host, becoming the network's second host after Robert Osborne. Due to health reasons, Osborne delegated weekday primetime hosting duties to Mankiewicz in 2013. Following Osborne's death in 2017, Mankiewicz assumed the role of the network's primetime host. In addition to his hosting duties, he hosts the TCM-produced podcast series The Plot Thickens and Talking Pictures. Mankiewicz is also known for his work as a film critic during the 2008-2009 season for the television program At the Movies and the web series What the Flick?. He is a descendant of the Mankiewicz family and has also served as a progressive political commentator for The Young Turks.
