Rebbeca Marie Gomez, known professionally as Becky G, is an American singer and actress born on March 2, 1997. She first gained recognition in 2011 through her YouTube cover versions of popular songs. Her debut single, Becky from the Block, and her debut EP, Play It Again, were released in 2013 but did not chart. In 2014, she achieved mainstream success with the single Shower, which reached the top twenty on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Gomez expanded into the Latin music market with her first full Spanish-language single, Sola, in 2016. Her debut studio album Mala Santa, released in 2019, debuted in the top five on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. The album's singles Mayores and Sin Pijama both peaked within the top five on the Hot Latin Songs chart, and Cuando Te Besé topped the Argentina Hot 100. Her second studio album, Esquemas, released in 2022, produced the number-one single Mamiii on the Hot Latin Songs chart. She continued her success with regional Mexican albums Esquinas and Encuentros, released in 2023 and 2024 respectively, which produced the number-one singles Por el Contrario and Mercedes on Regional Mexican Airplay.
