Bassem Youssef: podcast appearances and interviews

Bassem Raafat Mohamed Youssef is an Egyptian-American who has worked as a comedian, television host, actor, and former cardiothoracic surgeon. He began his media career with The B+ Show in 2011, a program inspired by his experiences during the Egyptian revolution. Youssef gained prominence as the host of El Bernameg from 2011 to 2014, a satirical comedy show centered on Egyptian politics. In 2015, he served as the host of the 43rd International Emmy Awards in New York City. Youssef's influence was recognized internationally when he was named on the Time 100 and Foreign Policy's 100 Leading Global Thinkers in 2013. His life and career were documented in the 2017 American film Tickling Giants, and he authored the book Revolution For Dummies the same year. In 2023, Youssef engaged in a virtual interview on the British talk show Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss the October 7 attacks and the Gaza war in relation to the broader Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
