Barbara Crampton: podcast appearances and interviews

Barbara Crampton, born on December 27, 1958, is an American actress and producer known for her work in horror and thriller films as well as television. She began her career in the 1980s with appearances in television soap operas, making her debut on the daytime drama Days of Our Lives between 1983 and 1984. She later played Leanna Love on The Young and the Restless, a role she held across multiple periods spanning from 1987 to 2023. Crampton also made her film debut in Body Double in 1984 and gained notable recognition in the comedy horror film Re-Animator in 1985, where she portrayed Megan Halsey. She also starred in the science-fiction film From Beyond as Dr. Katherine McMichaels in 1986. Throughout her career, she has appeared in various genre films including Chopping Mall, Puppet Master, Castle Freak, and Jakob's Wife, the latter earning her a Critics' Choice Super Award nomination. In addition to her film work, Crampton has appeared in television horror anthologies such as Syfy's Channel Zero: The Dream Door, Hulu's Into the Dark, and Shudder's Creepshow. Her contributions to the horror genre were recognized in 2024 when she was inducted into the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards' Monster Kid Hall of Fame.
