Arne Slot is a Dutch professional football manager and former player born on 17 September 1978. As a player, he was a midfielder who played for several clubs including FC Zwolle, NAC Breda, and Sparta Rotterdam. He began his playing career at FC Zwolle, where he won the Eerste Divisie in 2002, and concluded his career at PEC Zwolle, achieving another Eerste Divisie title in 2012. Transitioning into management, Slot started in the PEC Zwolle academy and served as an assistant at Cambuur before becoming co-head coach at the same club. In 2017, he joined AZ as an assistant coach and was appointed head coach in 2019. In 2021, he became the head coach of Feyenoord, leading the team to the UEFA Europa Conference League final in his first season. Under his guidance, Feyenoord secured the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup in subsequent seasons. In 2024, Slot was appointed head coach of Liverpool, leading the team to a Premier League title in his first season, marking him as the first Dutch manager to win the competition. His tenure at Liverpool ended with his dismissal at the conclusion of the following season.
