Armand Douglas Hammer is an American actor born on August 28, 1986. He began his acting career with guest appearances in several television series and gained wider recognition with his first leading role as Billy Graham in the 2008 film Billy: The Early Years. Hammer is known for portraying the twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in the 2010 biopic The Social Network and for his role as Clyde Tolson in the 2011 biopic J. Edgar. His other notable performances include playing the titular character in the 2013 western The Lone Ranger and starring as Illya Kuryakin in the 2015 film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. In 2017, Hammer starred in Luca Guadagnino's romantic drama Call Me by Your Name, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The following year, he portrayed Martin D. Ginsburg in the biopic On the Basis of Sex and appeared on Broadway in Straight White Men. In 2021, Hammer's career faced challenges after being accused of sexual and emotional abuse by three women. He abandoned several projects and was dropped by his talent agency and publicist, although he denied the accusations. An investigation by the Los Angeles County District Attorney and the LAPD concluded without criminal charges due to insufficient evidence. Hammer resumed his acting career in 2025.
