Anthony Ramos: podcast appearances and interviews

Anthony Ramos is the Chief of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Elgin Community College. He is also an American actor and singer known for his work in musical theater and film. Ramos graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a focus on musical theater, and he began his performing career in stage musicals. He gained significant recognition in 2015 as the original performer of the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the musical Hamilton, which earned him a Grammy Award. Additionally, he was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series or Movie for his performance in the 2020 stage recording of Hamilton. Ramos has also appeared in supporting roles in films such as A Star Is Born (2018) and starred in the musical film In the Heights (2021), for which he received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. His other notable works include acting in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) and Twisters (2024), as well as voicing Mr. Piranha in the animated films The Bad Guys (2022) and its upcoming sequel The Bad Guys 2 (2025), the latter earning him a Black Reel Award nomination for Outstanding Voice Performance.
