Anthony Michael Hall, born Michael Anthony Thomas Charles Hall on April 14, 1968, is an American actor known for his work in film and television. He made his film debut in Six Pack in 1982 and gained early recognition with a supporting role as Russell Rusty Griswold in National Lampoon's Vacation in 1983. Hall's career reached a milestone with his leading roles in three John Hughes-directed films: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science, which led to his association with a group of young actors known as the Brat Pack. To avoid being limited to his geek persona, he expanded his repertoire by joining the cast of Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1986 and taking roles in films such as Out of Bounds, Johnny Be Good, and Edward Scissorhands.

Following a period of smaller roles in the 1990s, Hall starred as Shorty Lattimore in the USA Network sitcom Claude's Crib and portrayed Bill Gates in the television film Pirates of Silicon Valley. His career experienced a resurgence with the lead role in the USA Network science fiction series The Dead Zone from 2002 to 2007 and a supporting role in The Dark Knight in 2008. In subsequent years, Hall appeared in various films including Results, War Machine, Bodied, Halloween Kills, and Trigger Warning. He also secured a main role in the third season of the Amazon Prime Video series Reacher in 2025.
