Anne LaBarr Duke is an American former professional poker player and an author specializing in cognitive-behavioral decision science and decision education. She was born on September 13, 1965. Duke holds a World Series of Poker gold bracelet from 2004 and was the leading money winner among women in WSOP history for some time. As of April 2023, she remains in the top five in that category despite having retired from poker in 2010. She has won notable poker tournaments including the 2004 WSOP Tournament of Champions and the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Duke has authored several instructional books aimed at poker players, such as 'Decide to Play Great Poker' and 'The Middle Zone,' as well as an autobiography titled 'How I Raised, Folded, Bluffed, Flirted, Cursed, and Won Millions at the World Series of Poker.' She has also written two books on decision-making, 'Thinking in Bets' and 'How to Decide,' which provide tools for making better choices. In addition to her poker career, Duke co-founded the non-profit Ante Up for Africa with actor Don Cheadle in 2007, supporting charitable causes in African nations. She has participated in and hosted charity poker tournaments and has been an advocate for issues related to online gambling legality and players' rights. Duke also served as co-founder, executive vice president, and commissioner of the Epic Poker League from 2011 to 2012.
