Annaleigh Ashford is an American actress, singer, and dancer born on June 25, 1985. She has performed on Broadway in productions such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. Ashford received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can’t Take It with You during the 2014 to 2015 season. Her other Tony nominations include roles as Lauren in Kinky Boots and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Additionally, she starred in the Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park with George in 2017. In 2015, Ashford released her debut album titled Lost in the Stars: Live at 54 Below. Her work in film and television encompasses notable credits such as the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex, the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable, the HBO film Bad Education, the FX drama Impeachment: American Crime Story, and the CBS sitcom B Positive.
