Andy Harris: podcast appearances and interviews

Andy Harris, born on January 25, 1957, is an American politician and physician serving as the U.S. representative for Maryland's 1st congressional district since 2011. His district encompasses the entire Eastern Shore and several eastern exurbs of Baltimore County. Harris previously worked as an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins University and commanded the Johns Hopkins Naval Reserve Medical Unit from 1989 to 1992.

He was elected to the Maryland Senate in 1998, after defeating incumbent F. Vernon Boozer in the Republican primary, and served until his election to Congress in 2010. His congressional victory was secured through a rematch in which he defeated incumbent Democrat Frank Kratovil. Since 2013, Harris has been the only Republican member of Maryland's congressional delegation. In 2024, he became the chair of the House Freedom Caucus.
