Andrew Chambers: podcast appearances and interviews

Andrew Phillip Chambers (June 30, 1931 – June 3, 2017) was a distinguished military officer known for his service in the United States Army where he achieved the rank of lieutenant general. An alumnus of Howard University, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education in 1954. He also obtained a Master of Science degree in communications from Shippensburg State College. Throughout his career, Chambers held several prominent positions, including commanding the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, from July 1982 to June 1984, and serving as the director of the Army Equal Opportunity Program. He was also a commanding general of the VII Corps and the United States Army Central during the 1980s. Chambers was part of a historic family; his brother, Lawrence Chambers, an alumnus of the United States Naval Academy, was a rear admiral in the United States Navy. The Chambers brothers were the first black siblings to hold flag ranks in the United States Military. Andrew Chambers was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on October 18, 2017.
