Andrea Pollack: podcast appearances and interviews

Andrea Pollack, later known as Andrea Pinske, was an East German swimmer born on May 8, 1961, in Schwerin. She competed as a butterfly swimmer and was a member of SC Dynamo Berlin. Pollack achieved notable success in the Olympics, winning three gold medals and two silver medals across the 1976 and 1980 Summer Games. At the age of fifteen, she secured two gold medals at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, one in the individual 200-meter butterfly and another with the women's relay team in the 4×100 meter medley. She also earned silver medals at these Games. Four years later, at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, she added a gold in the 4×100 meter medley relay and a silver in the 100-meter butterfly to her achievements. In 1978, Pollack was recognized for her remarkable talent, breaking the world record twice in the women's 200-meter butterfly. Later in her life, in 1998, Pollack was among former East German swimmers who publicly accused their coaches and physicians of systematic doping. After her swimming career, she became the founder of Autism Parent Solutions. Pollack was married to Norbert Pinske, a cyclist, and they had a son, Michael Pinske, who competed as a judoka in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
