Anders Fogh Rasmussen: podcast appearances and interviews

Anders Fogh Rasmussen is a Danish politician who served as the prime minister of Denmark from November 2001 to April 2009 and as the secretary general of NATO from August 2009 to October 2014. He has also been involved in founding organizations such as Rasmussen Global and the Alliance of Democracies Foundation, and he serves as a senior adviser to Citigroup. Rasmussen was first elected to the Danish Folketing in 1978 and held various ministerial positions including Minister of Tax and Minister of Economic Affairs. He initially expressed a classical liberal stance against the welfare state, authoring the book From Social State to Minimal State in 1993, but his views shifted toward the political centre throughout the 1990s. As leader of the conservative-liberal party Venstre beginning in 1998, he headed a centre-right coalition government that took office in 2001. His government enacted measures such as tougher immigration controls, a freeze on tax rates, and an administrative reform that reduced the number of municipalities and replaced counties with larger regions. Rasmussen authored several books on taxation and government structure. In 2009, he resigned as prime minister to assume the role of NATO Secretary General, becoming the first former Danish prime minister to hold this position since 1961. After his tenure at NATO, he transitioned to the private sector and became a private consultant on the international stage, also serving as a Senior Network Member at the European Leadership Network.
