Amy Williams is a British former skeleton racer and an author. She was born on 29 September 1982 and achieved notable success in her athletic career, including winning a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Her victory marked a significant milestone as she became the first British individual gold medallist at a Winter Olympics in 30 years and was the sole British medallist at those Games. Williams began her skeleton career in 2002 after trying the sport at the University of Bath. She also secured a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships before retiring from competition in 2012. Following her athletic career, she has worked as a television presenter on programs such as The Gadget Show and Ski Sunday. In addition to her media work, Williams is known for her authorship, including her book Worth Seeing: Viewing Others Through God’s Eyes.
