Amit Garg: podcast appearances and interviews

Amit Garg is an Indian mathematician and mental calculator who serves as the co-founder and managing partner of Tau Ventures. He is also the founder and CEO of ORMAE, a firm registered in the USA, UAE, and India that engages in building innovative products, consulting, and training in operations research and data science. Garg gained recognition for breaking the mental calculation world record on 15 March 2012 by completing ten division tasks involving a 10-digit number and a 5-digit number in 5 minutes and 45 seconds without errors. The tasks were designed to have no remainders and were constructed by a program provided by Dr Ralf Laue, the author of the Book of Alternative Records and chairman of the Mental Calculation World Cup. This record was accepted by Guinness World Records, the Limca Book of World Records, and the UK's Book of Alternative Records. Garg's achievements in mental calculation also include winning a silver medal at the Mind Sports Olympiad in London in 2012, marking the first such medal for India since the event's inception in 1997. Later, he placed sixth in the 'most versatile calculator' category at the fifth Mental Calculation World Cup in Germany and ranked tenth overall. Garg has participated in various events to promote mathematics, including speaking engagements at Middlesex University Dubai and the University of Auckland, where he demonstrated mathematical feats and discussed the impact of applied mathematics in industry. His presentations have attracted audiences of students and educators across multiple countries, emphasizing the practical applications of optimization and analytics.
