Amandla Stenberg is an American actress and musician born on October 23, 1998. She began her career as a child actor and gained recognition for her role as Rue in the 2012 action film The Hunger Games. As her career progressed, she appeared in the supernatural series Sleepy Hollow from 2013 to 2014 and starred in the 2017 romance film Everything, Everything. Her performance in the 2018 drama film The Hate U Give, where she portrayed a teenager witnessing a police shooting, received critical praise. Stenberg has also starred in the comedy horror film Bodies Bodies Bodies released in 2022 and is set to appear in the Star Wars series The Acolyte in 2024, where she plays a dual role. Outside of acting, she made her musical debut in 2015 as part of the folk rock duo Honeywater. In 2017, she performed the song Let My Baby Stay for the film Everything, Everything. Beyond her work in entertainment, Stenberg is known for her activism, particularly in support of LGBTQ youth, and has been recognized for her influence by appearing on Time magazine's lists of the most influential teens in 2015 and 2016.
