Alexis Dubus: podcast appearances and interviews

Alexis Dubus, born in 1979 in Buckinghamshire, is an English alternative comedian and actor. He is known for his French alter ego Marcel Lucont. Dubus studied Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Warwick, where he joined the sketch troupe Ubersausage. In 2003, he co-founded Falling Down With Laughter Comedy Club in London Bridge along with fellow comedian Sy Thomas, which operated until 2010. He is a board member of The Alternative Comedy Memorial Society and has performed in various guises for the organization. Dubus studied Le Jeu and Clowning at École Philippe Gaulier under master clown Philippe Gaulier. His television acting credits include roles on Nathan Barley, Pramface, Derek, and Red Dwarf XI. As a stand-up comedian, he has appeared on John Bishop's Christmas Show, Set List, Russell Howard's Good News, and various Comedy Central stand-up specials, as well as on series 2 and 3 of Live at the Electric. In New Zealand, he has been a panellist on Best Bits and 7 Days. His radio appearances include BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC Radio 1. He performed at the Adelaide Fringe for several years and has expressed critical views about the festival's challenges for independent producers. Dubus hosts the Comedy Cul-de-Sac podcast, where established comedians share their worst on-stage experiences.
