Alex Stone: podcast appearances and interviews

Alex Stone is a Los Angeles–based national radio correspondent for ABC News. Since joining the network in October 2004, he has covered a wide range of stories around the globe, including natural disasters such as the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami, the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, and numerous wildfires. Stone reported from New Orleans and the surrounding areas of Louisiana for weeks, focusing on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He has also covered several Olympic Games in China, Canada, England, and South Korea and has reported on high-profile trials involving figures such as Scott Peterson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson, and OJ Simpson. Prior to his work at ABC News, Stone was a general assignment reporter at KOA Radio in Denver. During his time at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he reported the news on weekdays and anchored Colorado's Morning News Saturday. Stone began his broadcasting career at KSRO Radio in Santa Rosa, California, starting at the age of 12 with a program called Teens on Air; by age 13, he was already part of the local news team. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with several national Edward R. Murrow Awards for coverage on topics including airport security, the nation's Emergency Alert System, the Japan tsunami, and the 2015 terror attack in San Bernardino, California.
