Alex Roberts, born on 21 June 1983 in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England, is a partner and Head of TMT in China at Linklaters. Prior to his legal career, Roberts was a professional cricketer who held full-time contracts with Yorkshire, Durham, Essex, and Leicestershire. He represented England at various youth levels from under-13 to under-19 and played for Cumberland in the Minor Counties Championship and the MCCA Knockout Trophy. His cricketing career included appearances in List A cricket, Twenty20 matches, and club cricket in England, Australia, and New Zealand. Roberts played and coached in Western Australia for several seasons, where he was a leading player, finishing at the top of the run charts in two of those seasons with batting averages of 55 and a bowling average of 19. He currently holds 49 career first-grade centuries. He was educated at King's Manor School and Teesside Tertiary College in Middlesbrough.
