Alex Edwards: podcast appearances and interviews

Alex Edwards was a Scottish footballer known for his role as a winger for clubs including Dunfermline, Hibernian, and Arbroath. He made his league debut just five days after his sixteenth birthday in March 1962, which made him the second-youngest outfield player to appear in a Scottish Football League match at that time. During his early career, he participated in Dunfermline's noteworthy 6–2 victory against Valencia in 1962 and played in the Scottish Cup finals of 1965 and 1968, winning the latter. In 1971, Edwards was signed by Hibernian for £13,000 and is remembered for his effective partnership on the right flank with John Brownlie. His tenure at Hibernian included participation in another Scottish Cup Final in 1972 and winning the Scottish League Cup in the following season. During his time at Hibs, the team challenged for the league title, but their campaign was affected by Edwards' eight-week ban following four bookings in a season. Later in his career, Edwards joined Arbroath in 1978 before retiring from professional football in 1980. In October 2024, he was inducted into the Hibernian Hall of Fame. Alex Edwards passed away at the age of 78 on 11 December 2024.
