Alan White: podcast appearances and interviews

Alan White was an English drummer known for his extensive career in progressive rock music. He was a member of the band Yes for nearly 50 years, having joined in 1972 as a replacement for original drummer Bill Bruford. White was the longest-serving member of the band, and his tenure lasted until his death in 2022. Outside of his work with Yes, he performed with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, joining their Plastic Ono Band in 1969 after Lennon invited him to play at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival festival. White played drums on notable singles such as Instant Karma! and Imagine, and contributed to most of Lennon's 1971 album Imagine. In addition, he released a solo album titled Ramshackled in 1976 and played on over 50 albums by other artists, including George Harrison, Ginger Baker's Air Force, Terry Reid, Joe Cocker, and The Ventures. His powerful drumming style was sampled in hit singles by Art of Noise, specifically Beat Box and Close to the Edit. Alan White's contributions to music earned him induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Yes in 2017.
